Absence of
of the Sun
Comic | Absence of the Sun (2017)
Absence of the Sun was the outcome of walking around the city of Chicago for an afternoon. The scenes shown are taken from my observations, and the text is taken from conversations I overheard.
Created with Micron pens on Bristol paper.

Next In Line
Comic | Next In Line (2017)
Next In Line was inspired by a song by the band Walk the Moon (often stylized as WALK THE MOON). Unlike the comic, the song has absolutely nothing to do with zombies, but that's what the lyrics always reminded me of. The text is taken from the song itself.
Created with a traditional inking quill on Bristol paper.
Glitch
Animation | Your Majesty (2018)
Your
Majesty
Your Majesty is my vision of a pretentious raccoon. This walking cycle was colored with ink and red and black sharpie and shot on Dragonframe software.
Animation | Straight Edge Skater (2018)
Straight
Edge
Skater
This is a complex animation sequence of a skater. Abraham Omega is one of my favorite characters that I've created. Colored with prismacolor markers and shot on Dragonframe software.

Comic | I Hate (Used to Love) This Song (2019)
This was the most organic comic I've ever made. I let the words and feelings come to me naturally when I set out to make a response to Yvonne Alexandra's comic "Synesthesia". Made with a ballpoint pen and ink on vellum Bristol paper.

Today
Comic | 45 Years Ago Today (2019)
This comic was inspired by two outside sources -- a story about my mother as a child, and a comic by Jess Kitty Parker that I came across in Challenger Comics (a Chicago based comic book store). My mom printed out copies for her co-workers and that's my favorite response I've ever gotten to something I created.
Created with a traditional inking quill on Bristol Paper.

Portrait of Nisa
Portrait of Nisa (2019)
A portrait made in Procreate of my good friend, Nisa for Christmas. I tried out a new style with this for a faux CMYK print in mind.

Chloe
Chloe (2020)
A compilation of fast sketches of my dog, Chloe. This was just for fun, but I thought it turned out cute!

Alone With My Thoughts - Self Portrait (2020)
This was the first image I created in response to COVID-19. I moved back to Texas to be with my parents, which is nice, but incredibly draining. I found myself alone more than usual and my own thoughts came to torture me.

Study In Red
Study in Red (2020)
I also created this in response to COVID-19. It's hard to deal with all of the emotions that surround a worldwide pandemic, and I personally felt as though I was decaying.

Suffocating
Suffocating (2020)
About a month into quarantine, I started working on this piece. Being removed from everything I built for myself and being forced to become someone I don't know or like makes me feel like I am suffocating.

The Last

The Last Day on Earth (2020)
A lot of what I was making in the weeks prior to this comic was a direct reflection of my thoughts and emotions. This comic was a chance to break away and escape to something therapeutic. I made this comic about my last day with my best friend before quarantine started and we had no idea what would happen next. It makes me happy to dwell on the past and I hope whoever reads it feels happy too.
Created with Procreate on the iPad.

Visitation (2020)
Two people and a cat are visited by the spirit of immense joy after a long year of being haunted by death and destruction. Everything feels like a beautiful dream and they fear waking up.
